AED HEADQUARTERS IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE MANUFACTURERS WE REPRESENT

We have evaluated every manufacturer in the market. We have had signed contracts with every manufacturer (excluding Access Cardio). We know the companies internal philosophies and how they approach business with customers and distributors. While we discovered tremendous desire from a few small start-up companies, this desire without the financial ability can only do so much. Our Mission is to “Save Lives”. We take selling life support equipment seriously, which is why our web site is also a resource center. AED Headquarters can only protect our customers by protecting ourselves first. When you purchase a product from AED Headquarters you can rest assured that we have done our homework. Our passion is much more than simply selling you a product.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: History has shown us that in the development of every new market only a few manufacturers survive. Today we are involved in a global market where the competition is fierce. It is estimated that only 10% to 15% of the AED market has been penetrated. There were 8 AED manufacturers in 2003. Today (2005) there are 7 manufactures. How many manufacturers in 2007 and 2010 will still be around selling AEDs? AED Headquarters believes the answer to this question is 5. The opportunity for a larger financially solvent corporation to enter the AED market by acquiring a new start-up company is always a remote possibility.

AED Headquarters says "YES" to
PHILIPS - ZOLL - WELCH ALLYN

Proven established companies that offer superior products and market dominance. These companies have been around for over 25+ years excluding Defibtech, which has been in business for 7 years. Defibtech is one of the fastest growing AED companies. Defibtech private labels their AED for a 2 to 3 billion dollar corporation which certainly adds viability. We believe there is a tremendous opportunity for this company to be acquired in the future. According to our sources, two major corporations have their eye on Defibtech. Seeking quality experienced manufacturers who also indemnify you means so much when you consider the society we live in.

WHY? The following list provides you with a variety of reasons that AED Headquarters has elected not to sell the above listed manufactures. We believe that after 29 years in business our future and growth are tied closely to the manufactures we represent. We have attempted below to provided you with a variety of reasons that may or may not be totally applicable to each of the aforementioned manufactures. We believe that there is simply too much risk for our customers and AED Headquarters. AED Headquarters believes new start-up companies offer a tremendous amount of risk for customers. We also believe that manufactures who offer poor delivery, deception, and on-going problems pertaining to their product offering inevitably have the potential to harm our integrity and credibility that we have worked so hard to maintain.

The AED market is still in the embryonic stage, thus we understand how and why many customers elected to purchase product from one of the manufactures we have elected to no longer represent. While we also made a mistake by representing these manufacturers, it quite honestly was the only way to learn first hand how they market their product. Historically, customers have made purchasing decisions after seeing a sales presentation on one AED. You have no baseline when selecting an AED after viewing a sales presentation on one AED. Since this is life support equipment, we recommend customers view a sales presentation on a minimum of three AEDs before making a decision. The more you know about different AEDs the better choice you'll make in selecting the right one for you. We learned the hard way, but in the process gained tremendous insite. AED Headquarters can be a valuable asset in helping you select the right AED. We can provide you with the advantages and disadvantages of every AED in the market place.

Recalls are a fact of life. The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a mechanical device whereas the assembly of outsourced components utilized in manufacturing AEDs along with the human element associated with assembly will in time create recalls. No AED manufacturer is exempt from recalls. In the event of a major recall, do any of the above organizations have the financial ability to handle a significant recall by the FDA? Will the lack of profitability influence the decision making process pertaining to voluntary recalls by the manufacturer?

New Start up companies normally have little to offer other than price. While Price is important, long term stability has yet to be proven. Take Access Cardio for example. They offered a very aggressive price of $995 back in the year 2003. While this price slowly escalated to $1,395 they encountered an FDA recall which forced Access Cardio to recall 10,000 of their AEDs. This recall caused the organization to file for bankruptcy. Access Cardio had sold over 20,000 AEDs. Approximately 10,000+ Access Cardio AEDs were not recalled. Unfortunately, propriety batteries for this specific AED along with pads are no longer available. While they had the best price going at one time, we’ve all heard the old adage, here today, gone tomorrow. AED Headquarters is pleased that we never jumped on board or attempted to sell this particular product.

Lawsuits – It is extremely difficult today for small new start up companies to compete in a society that is known for frivolous lawsuits. There are a number of active lawsuits between various AED manufacturers.

Warranty – AED manufactures offer anywhere from a 5 to 7 year warranty. While 7 year or even 10 years sounds good, remember to read the fine print pertaining to the warranty. What good is a warranty if the company is here today and gone tomorrow? Be Careful!

Indemnify – AED Headquarters believes this is one of the most important issues to secure against hurt, loss, or damage and to make compensation for specific loss or damage.

Batteries – Please remember that one must look at the long term cost when it comes to purchasing batteries including the battery life. While many AED manufacturers offer proprietary type batteries, the replacement cost from some of these manufactures range from $300 to $400 dollars. Be careful and compare the long term replacement cost. A great price today may end up costing you a tremendous amount in the years to come. DO YOUR HOME WORK BEFORE BUYING AN AED...COMPARE!

While we’ve only mentioned a few scenarios, there are many, many more. The point is very simple. PURCHASE AEDS FROM AN ORGANIZATION WHO NOT ONLY KNOWS WHATS GOING ON IN THE MARKET, THEY ALSO SHARE IT WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS.

DEFIBTECH - HEARTSINE -CARDIAC SCIENCE

We as a company are concerned about the financial ability that these 3 start up companies have relative to handling an FDA recall.  To date these e companies have all had minor recall issues.  A major recall has the potential to put these 3 companies into bankruptcy no different than the Access Cardio Company.  The products that these 3 companies offer is not the issue, it's their fianancial ability to compete long term with proven manufacturers and at the same time handle a recall.  AEDs are man made devices and every manufacturer including the proven ones are subject to an FDA recall at anytime.  We simply believe that the risk is to great regarding these 3 manufacturers.  The final decision is yours!
